After the Storm
"And there will come a time, you'll see, with no more tears,
And love will not break your heart, but dismiss your fears."

This first year away at school has brought about great change in my life, change that is infinitely for the better. I am far braver and stronger than I ever imagined myself to be, and my heart and mind have been opened to wonders of the world I had never before experienced.
My beloved friends, I have missed you all so terribly much, and I hope their is still a little place for me in this home we've made here on Polyvore. I have lately been longing for our stories and sisterhood, and I hope to return to you all very, very soon.

A Room of One's Own
My little corner of the room I share with the lovely @fleetingfanfan, on our beautiful Bus! Books, birds, and bunnies abound...or they would, if the item limit didn't stop me in my tracks far too soon.

"For in my dark despair, I slowly understood
My perfect world out there had disappeared for good.
Yet, in its place I feel a truer life begin,
And it's so good and real, it must come from within.
And I, I never thought I'd leave behind
My childhood dreams, but I don't mind.
I'm where and who I want to be.
No change of heart, a change in me."

You put your arms around me, and I'm home.
Hello, everyone.
I have missed you all so very much.

Hopefully, you are all well and happy and settled in for school I cannot wait to hear how everyone's summers were, and what new stories we can all tell together this new year.

If ever there is a tomorrow when we're not together...
...there is something you must always remember. You are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think. But the most important thing is, even if we're apart...I'll always be with you.

Bio: Fiona Heather got her start with Disney when she was hired as a scenic painter and general technician for the international tour of “Beauty and the Beast”. Impressed by the fresh young Cambridge graduate’s artistic sensibilities and nigh-obsessive work ethic, Fiona was recommended to Gilroy Breckenridge, a Scotsman and the chief technical director for Disneyland shows, to fill a recently opened scenography position. As it turns out, Gil was also a Cambridge alum, who had spent a semester student-teaching Miss Heather in a drafting and design class. Academically, the pair had not gotten along in a particularly stellar manner, as Gil’s unorthodox teaching methods were relaxed at best and not at all suited to Fiona’s slightly neurotic tendencies, but this did not stop them from having a madly passionate fling after hours. Brought together once more by the fabled magic of Disney, their love-hate relationship blossomed into a brilliant intellectual affair, and ultimately a devoted, blissful marriage. The couple now has two children, ginger twins with frighteningly extensive mental capabilities and annoying lilting accents, just like their parents.

Audition Questions:

-Tell us a little about yourself. What you do every day, your past, things you do for fun, etc.

My name is Fiona Breckenridge, and I’d shake your hand, but there’s paint on my fingers. I am happily employed as a scenic designer for the incredible Disney Company, alongside my husband, Gilroy. My days are split between “office work”, time spent in my studio planning and sketching out designs for shows, rides, restaurants, and much more, and “hands-on work”, implementing those designs with the help of my ducklings, which is to say, the bright young interns who follow me about with dripping paint brushes and eager smiles. I don’t think I’ve ever met a cast member who isn’t delighted to be employed by the most magical place on Earth. It’s a wonderful place to work, and to raise a family.

-What brings you to Anaheim, California?

Seven years ago, I was hired specifically to paint sets for Disneyland, and so I packed up my little life and journeyed to the States.

-Why do you want to work for Disney?

Since my initial employment, I’ve risen in the ranks, gotten married, gained an MFA, and had babies. I don’t intend on budging an inch from where I am, though I could do without all this blazing sunlight. None of us were meant to dwell so far from our ancestral gloom and fog…I think we spend more yearly on sunscreen than food. And that’s saying something, with two toddlers and a husband to keep fed and watered. Speaking of which, it is nearly teatime, and the little ones will soon be clamoring for biscuits…I must take my leave of you.

Sarabel Dunraven
"So different, yet so the same, two sisters only have their parents to blame.
It's rare that two can get along, but when they do, they're inseparable.
Such a blessing comes to few.
The sky is full of clouds and my world is full of people."

Sarabel Dunraven
age: 17
mother: Anna Mulloy
Sarabel is an artistic soul, and fills her time painting with anything she can on anything she can. Empty rooms with white walls are like blank canvases to her, and several rooms in the manor do indeed have her extravagant frescos emblazoned across their walls. Of course, her painting can also be used practically, to help keep track of where she’s been in the manor, so that she never gets lost. Of late, Sarabel has noticed her murals are becoming tangible. Indeed, whenever she paints something, like a forest or a bird, it comes to life! Forever smeared in paint, Sarabel is cunning with a limitless imagination and a kind heart.

“I’ll just sit there by a star and I’ll watch you from afar,
'Til I see you walking toward me someday soon.
Then together hand in hand, we’ll find our promised land.
And we’ll settle down forever, darlin’, just beyond the moon.”

Helene Dunraven ~
age: 18
mother: Katharine Keats
Helene has the most interesting ailment of all the Dunraven brood – she waxes and wanes with the moon. That is, when the moon is at its fullest and brightest, Helene is at her happiest and healthiest. However, when the moon begins to disappear, she becomes sickly, tired, and melancholy. On days when she feels well, her skin seems to glow, and on days she feels ill, she hides away in her room so no one really knows what she looks like. Helene feels whatever is wrong with her might be a spell, like one you read about in fairytales. She hopes that maybe one day, her prince will come and save her from it.

"What about the hours I spent devising the tales I told?
My fiction just to balance out the way that your arms can pull."

Sophie Dunraven ~
age: 17
mother: Anna Mulloy
Sophie is a storyteller. When Sophie and her siblings were quite small, and their mother had passed away, she used stories she'd made up about Lord Dunraven to mollify them. Since coming to live in the manor, she finds that when she tells a story to someone, rooms and even people pop into existence. For instance, the black lion and a surly, lovelorn knight are on the loose because of her. For this reason, she’s had to become more careful of the stories she tells. Sophie’s vices are cheap paperback romance novels and a certain character of her own design, kept secret from everyone but her two sisters.

Jessica Dunraven
"The one who survives by making the lives of others worthwhile.
She's coming apart right before my eyes.
The one who depends on the services she renders to those who come knocking.
She's seeing too clearly what she can't be, what understanding defies.
She says: I need not to need, or else a love with intuition,
Someone who reaches out to my weakness and won't let go.
I need not to need; I've always been the tower,
But now I feel like I'm the flower trying to bloom in snow..."

Jessica Dunraven
age: 21
mother: Jane Dunraven, née Bellamy
Jessica is perhaps the strangest member of the family…because she is absolutely, completely ordinary. She has no bizarre ailments or maladies, nor magical powers or great talents. Her skin is pasty, not porcelain, no roses bloom on her cheeks, and her eyes don’t shine with mysterious starlight, dewdrop tears, murderous rages, or anything else. Jessica is simply plain, docile, and…dread word…mundane. As the eldest (and only christened, on-the-books, legitimately born within wedlock) child and thus heiress presumptive to the House, this normalcy is looked on as a defect far more tragic than any moon-based sickness or vexing imaginary friend. Her siblings pity her, the staff adores her…and her father? It seems that in Lord Dunraven’s eyes, Jessica has taken on the role of a housekeeper, no less and no more. And she’s resigned to her fate as the maiden aunt, the liaison to the village, the sober, responsible, dutiful daughter. After all, she’s not special…much as she might like to, she cannot paint or tell stories or dance or turn boys into cats. All Jessica can do is stay, meek and mild mannered, in the long, dark shadows of her little sisters, trying to make herself useful, in the hopes that one day, someone might come to value hard work and honesty over beauty and glory.
